50 Ton Chillers

Cold Shot Chillers two stage air cooled water chillers are made in the USA and are among the most durable and dependable chillers in the market. We offer 50-Ton chillers in a variety of flow designs for process cooling applications in anodizing, brewery, and distillery.  These are available in stationary air-cooled water chillers and liquid-cooled water chillers that do not include a recirculating fluid pump or an internal holding tank. This machine is also offered with complete controls as a portable unit which includes, a durable water pump(s) and insulated holding tank.  Other options provided are reverse flow and continuous flow to cool a process or centralize holding tank.

50 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Portable)

Two stage “Portable” air cooled water chiller system, sometimes called central cooling system for industrial chilling solution is a dual pump model that includes a recirculating chiller pump and a secondary pump dedicated for the process, it features full load performance hermetic scroll compressors and R410A refrigerant for effective and reliable cooling. The evaporator for this unit is made of copper-brazed stainless-steel plates with flow and temperature safeties to protect against water freezing. This unit will provide approximately 600,000 BTU/HR with 50 F leaving chill water temperature and 95 F ambient conditions.  Economical option to meet designed process demand.  The unit weighs approximately 2900 lbs. in total with dimensions of 188” L x 88” W x 73” H.

Standard Features

Controls: This chiller comes standard with an electronic programmed temperature controller with constant (set point & process) readout to provide diagnostics and precise temperature. Fully factory tested.

Refrigeration Components: Efficient scroll compressors, balanced port expansion valves, sight glass/moisture indicators, pump down valves, filter drier, fan cycling head pressure controls.

Process Fluid Components:  PVC “Y” strainer with 20 mesh stainless steel screen. Pumps are stainless steel centrifugal. Tanks are insulated with fluid level sensor, spin on lid and drain. Portable systems will include a flow

control valve.

Safety Controls: High and low refrigerant pressure, high and low fluid temperature, freeze, low water flow, internal overloads, thermal overload circuit breakers and/or safety fuses for compressors, pumps, and fan motors, temperature relief fusible plug on liquid lines of each circuit.

Construction: Heavy duty powder coated frame and full metal cabinet, copper piping connections.

Warranty: One year for parts / five year for the compressor.

50 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller (Stationary)

The two-stage air-cooled “Stationary” water chiller systems from Cold Shot is ruggedly constructed and easy to operate.  It typically comes with separate controls for the chiller and the process pump(s), with an electrical connection to each component.  The use of a single or dual pump can be designed to provide cooling for a wide variety of applications.  The holding fluid tank can be remotely installed for convenience and piped together on site.  They are designed for either indoor or outdoor installation to meet each client’s needs.  Each system includes reliable and energy efficient hermetic scroll compressors with environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant designed for continuous use.

50 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller (Reverse Flow)

Cold Shot reverse flow circuits are designed specifically for an open circuit application where an external fluid central tank is required. Easy to install and operate.  Like a close loop chiller system, a reverse flow design will require a holding tank to be cooled and used to circulate the fluid to a process. It is typically used to gravity feed water into the system’s fluid pump. The pump sends the externally sourced water through the chiller evaporator and filter before sending it back to the tank/trough or process. Many tanks used on a reverse flow design come with a water make up valve to ensure fluid is always present in the tank.  Standard non coated or e-coated microchannel condenser coils.  These chillers can be constructed for outdoor installation to reduce heat inside the building.

50 Ton Water-cooled Units (Portable)

Cold Shot Chillers 50 Ton model WCWC-600-E water-cooled liquid chiller is designed to bring higher efficiency and superior performance to all types of industrial applications. A compact system smaller than an air cooled system due to the condenser differences, this machine can be used as a central chiller for indoor or outdoor mounting.  These self-contained water-cooled systems are made to accommodate a process cooling requirement.  Water-cooled chillers allow the refrigeration system to operate at lower head pressure, making them more efficient.  Arrangements available with a remote pump and tank.

Water-cooled chillers recirculate water to cool the refrigerant in the brazed plated fluid condenser.  This chiller includes and efficient water-cooled liquid condenser, high efficiency brazed plate stainless-steel copper brazed.  The refrigerant and cooling water from a cooling water source do not come in direct contact with each other, these flow in different pathways.  These units are usually installed indoors.  The 50 Ton portable water-cooled chiller weighs approximately 1,700 lbs. and has dimensions of 98” L x 55” W x 88” H.
